Author Guidelines for Book and Book Chapters
Front Matter
1. Title Page
The title page should be the first page of your book or book chapter. The title should be in bold, cantered, and use a legible font size (e.g., 18-24 point). Include the book or chapter title, author(s)’ name(s), and the affiliation (e.g., university, institution).
2. Dedication (Optional)
Dedication should be cantered on a separate page. The dedication is a heartfelt message to individuals or entities you wish to honour.
3. Table of Contents
Include a table of contents listing all major sections, chapters, and subsections. Ensure clear and consistent formatting for headings and subheadings. Use page numbers aligned to the right margin.
4. List of Figures and Tables (if applicable)
Include a list of figures and tables with clear and concise titles. Use the same font and formatting as the table of contents.
Page Specifications
1. Page Size and Orientation
Use standard page sizes such as 5 x 11 inches (letter) or 6 x 9 inches for books. Use portrait orientation.
2. Margins
Set page margins to ensure readability and a professional appearance.
Suggested margins: Top and bottom margins – 1 inch, Left and right margins – 0.75 and 1 inch respectively.
3. Font and Text Formatting
Use a Garamond font style for the main text. Suggested font size for the main text: 11 points. Utilize a consistent and legible font throughout the book.
4. Line Spacing:
Use 1.15 or double line spacing for the main text. Maintain a consistent line spacing throughout the book.
5. Paragraph Indentation
Use a consistent and appropriate paragraph indentation style (e.g., first-line indent).
6. Plagiarism
Plagiarism is the act of using someone else’s words, ideas, or intellectual property without proper attribution or permission. Plagiarism can occur in various forms, such as direct copying, paraphrasing without citation, or submitting someone else’s work as your own. Up to 20% plagiarism is acceptable.
7. References
Use Vancouver style for citation. Ensure consistent citation and referencing style throughout the book. If referencing online sources, include DOI (Digital Object Identifier) or URLs to ensure accessibility.
8. Publication charge
The book publication fee is Rs. 9999/- (Nepali currency) or Rs. 6999/- (Indian currency), which includes the ISBN, copyright, cover design, interior design, and hosting on an internet platform like Amazon or Flipkart.
